RONGAI route

RONGAI route Overview

The Rongai Route is the only route that appraoches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. Rongai’s ascent profile is very similar with marangu but this is camping which is descend via marangu gete, people say is Kilimanjaro’s easier routes because the climb to the top is gradual and steady  but is not true, this route has low crowds and passes through remote wilderness areas. It is probably the only route where sometime you seeing wildlife in the first days is possible.

It is the first route that you will have the option on the third day that there is two ways which is join together at the base camp, one is pass close to Mawenzi peak and other go direct to third camp to kibo hut
